Alaska Day 3 - Leaving Anchorage (morning)

So -- why were the clocks at the hotel ignoring the east coast of the United States??
Look at where Captain Cook traveled:

 Note - Cook never stopped on the eastern seaboard, but he did stop everywhere else that the clocks showed a time:  Honolulu, London, Sydney and Anchorage.   I did not realize he had made it this far northwest in his travels.
